About Us XEnergy was selected as the most favorable bidder in the tender of the Ministry of Public Works of Montenegro for the preparation of technical documentation and construction of the Lovćen-Cetinje cable car.
The project includes the construction of an 11-kilometer-long cable car with a planned intermediate station at Ivanove korita, which will connect the area of the Lovcen National Park with the historic center of Cetinje.
This project is a continuation of the development of the cable car infrastructure system in Lovćen. XEnergy has, in partnership with the Italian company Leitner, already implemented the project of the cable car Kotor (Dub) – Lovćen (Kuk), opened in 2023, over which the company has a concession.
A team of domestic and regional partners and subcontractors will participate in the implementation of the new project, including Briv Construction, Geonex, Studio Grad, Planplus, Geo Max Group, GP Team, Liming Projekt, ING Invest and KOTO.
The project is implemented on the principle of "design and build", which includes the development of the main design of the route, the definition of the position of poles and intermediate stations, as well as the design of the accompanying road and electricity infrastructure necessary for the construction and functioning of the system.
The planned cable car will be designed with a transport capacity of 100 to 800 passengers per hour, with technical solutions adapted to the mountainous terrain and demanding climatic conditions.
Special attention was paid to the design of the final station in Cetinje, which is located near the protected zone of the historic city center. In accordance with the urban and technical conditions, the station is planned to be partially buried in the terrain, which minimizes its visual impact and preserves the ambient value of the space.
According to investors, the project is expected to be completed in 2027. The realization of the Lovćen-Cetinje project represents a significant step in the further development of Montenegro's tourist infrastructure and further confirms the company's position XEnergy We are a reliable partner in the implementation of complex infrastructure projects in the region.
