XEnergy d.o.o. Podgorica, as the holder of the consortium in partnership with Astor Enerji, signed a contract for the supply of power transformers for the Brezna substation. The work is being carried out for the Montenegrin Electric Transmission System, with the support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

The focus is on the delivery and commissioning of two autotransformers with a power of 300 MVA (400/110/10.5 kV). This equipment changes the role of the Brezna substation, from the existing level to an important point of the future 400 kV network of Montenegro.

Behind this is a whole series of activities that must be precisely integrated: from planning and production, through transport and assembly, to oil processing, testing and commissioning. In parallel, quality controls will be carried out, the condition of equipment will be monitored through modern monitoring systems and ESHS procedures will be applied that protect people and the environment, in accordance with international standards and requirements of financial institutions.

The special value of this engagement is the fact that it has gone through a demanding tender process. This is a clear signal that the technical solutions, organization and approach to work are recognized as reliable.

Upon completion, the grid will have the capacity to accommodate at least 200 MW of renewable energy, with a reduction in transmission losses of about 13 GWh per year. In practice, this means a more stable system and a more secure supply.
