Kotor and Mojkovac substations strengthen the electricity distribution network in the north and south of Montenegro

In order to improve the regional stability of the electricity distribution network, XEnergy has implemented an important segment of modernization of electricity transmission through the project of procurement and installation of transformers for substations 110/35kV "Kotor" and 110/35kV "Mojkovac".

These infrastructure sub-projects are part of a wider investment cycle that is taking place in cooperation with ABB Italy, a renowned manufacturer of electrical equipment, whose state-of-the-art technology has been implemented in both substations.

Technical contribution and significance

As a contractor, XEnergy has successfully implemented the delivery, installation and connection of key power equipment, including modern high-performance transformers that enable reliable transmission and distribution of electricity at the voltage level of 110/35kV.

• TS "Kotor": located on the coast, this substation plays a key role in the stable supply of the wider coastal region and tourist zones that have seasonally increased energy needs.
• TS "Mojkovac": as part of the electricity infrastructure of the northern region, the substation enables a safer power supply to households and businesses in Mojkovac and the surrounding municipalities, while at the same time relieving the existing network.
• Energy stability at the local level – the project contributes to a safe and even power supply, reduces loads and interruptions in the grid, especially in the winter and summer months.
• Support for the development of tourism and the economy – quality energy infrastructure is a prerequisite for the development of the local economy, including hotels, industry and public institutions.
• Reduction of losses and increase of efficiency – new transformers enable better energy conversion and reduction of technical losses in the system.
• Partnership with a leading European manufacturer – cooperation with ABB Italy confirms the technical reliability and international standards that XEnergy involved in the implementation of their projects.

The project of substations "Kotor" and "Mojkovac" is one of the infrastructure investments that have a direct positive impact on the quality of life of citizens and the capacities of the local economy.
