Technical revitalization of one of the most important cable car systems on Jahorina
During the summer-autumn period of 2021, a comprehensive reconstruction of the two-seater cable car Ogorjelica 2 was carried out – one of the oldest, but also the most important transport capacities on Jahorina. The installation was modernized after almost 40 years of operation, through the replacement of vital components and the implementation of a general overhaul, which ensured its safety, extended service life and raised the level of functionality.
Technical characteristics of the cable car:
- System type: two-seater cable car
- Route length: 1,050 meters
- Capacity: 800 skiers per hour.
- Year of modernization: 2021.
The reconstruction of the Ogorjelica 2 cable car had multiple significance – technical, tourist and economic. The lifespan of one of the main pillars of the Jahorina ski network has been extended, which ensures the stability of the system and the preservation of existing resources. Thanks to the modernization, the flow of skiers has been significantly improved and congestion on the slopes has been reduced, while at the same time the safety and comfort of users has been increased.
The project has given a strong impetus to the strategy of development of Jahorina as a modern and competitive winter destination, which successfully responds to the demands of the modern market and provides a quality winter holiday experience for visitors from all over the region.
