Igalo – Ilinica Panoramic Cable Car: A New View of Herceg Novi

As part of the Strategic Development Plan of the Municipality of Herceg Novi until 2027, among more than 100 infrastructure and tourism initiatives, the construction of a panoramic cable car that will connect Igalo with the Ilinica viewpoint stands out. This project brings a unique blend of functionality and tourist experience, designed to valorize the natural potential of the hinterland of Herceg Novi and enrich the tourist offer of the region.

The cable car route will be a little more than 1,000 meters long, with a height difference of about 400 meters. A capacity of 72 to 80 passengers per hour is planned, with the use of comfortable gondolas with 8 seats each and a maximum rope movement speed of 5 m/s. In addition to its technical performance, the special value of the project lies in its potential to revitalize and connect the areas of Igalo, the village of Žvinje and Ilijino Brdo, creating a new basis for tourist and local mobility.

The implementation takes place on the principle of "design and build", i.e. "turnkey", which implies complete technical, construction and infrastructural development of the project – from the development of the Main Design to the completion of all works.

In addition to providing a panoramic experience of the Bay of Kotor from a completely new perspective, this cable car has the potential to become a new attraction on the map of the Montenegrin coast, and at the same time to improve access to less developed areas of the hinterland.
