Electrification of the first section, the first Montenegrin highway
The electrification of the first section of the Bar-Boljare highway, on the route between Smokovac and Mateševo, is one of the key infrastructural steps in the modernization of traffic in Montenegro. The project was carried out by the company XEnergy d.o.o., member XE Group, which was in charge of the design, construction and implementation of the entire power system along the route.
During the implementation, the main substations of SS 110/20kV "Autoput 1" (Gornje Mrke) and SS "Autoput 1" (Gornje Mrke) were built and equipped.Podgorica 1", as well as eight smaller substations, with the installation of equipment for another 18 additional. In addition, SS 20/0.4kV systems with modern management and control solutions have been installed, which enable remote monitoring and efficient maintenance of the network.
A particular challenge was the installation of more than 200 kilometers of cables along 40 kilometers of the route, which provided a stable power supply to all subsystems of the highway – from tunnel lighting and signaling, to monitoring and communication systems.
The project was implemented in accordance with the highest technical and safety standards, and the result is a reliable and efficient energy system that enables the smooth functioning of a modern transport corridor. With the completion of the works, Montenegro has received not only a functional, but also a technologically advanced road that significantly contributes to regional connectivity and development.
