Žabljak substation – an energy impulse for Montenegrin mountain tourism
With the construction of the new 110/35 kV substation "Žabljak", the Municipality of Žabljak for the first time received a transmission substation that enables a much more stable, reliable and efficient power supply – especially in periods of increased consumption during the winter months and the tourist season.
This project, implemented on a turnkey basis, marks an important step forward in the energy infrastructure of the northern region of Montenegro, with special importance for mountain tourism, the local community and development projects in the area.
Company XEnergy has successfully implemented all phases of the project – from the conceptual design, design, execution of construction and electrical installation works, to the final commissioning at the end of 2023. Within the building, advanced electrical power equipment from the renowned manufacturer ABB was installed, which met the highest technical and safety standards.
The new substation in Žabljak provides a reliable energy supply for key sectors such as tourism, households and public institutions, thus directly contributing to the quality of life and attracting investments. Implemented in accordance with environmental standards, the substation supports the sustainable development of this mountainous region and the preservation of the protected area of Durmitor.
