Modernization of the Olympic infrastructure for a new generation of winter tourists
At the site of Malo polje, on Mount Igman, the reconstruction of the two-seater cable car was successfully implemented, which gave this key infrastructure facility from the time of the 1984 Winter Olympics a new functionality and extended lifespan. The project was completed in 2021 and included a detailed modernization of the system for greater safety, efficiency and comfort for skiers and visitors.

The implementation of this project has significantly improved the conditions for staying on Igman during the winter months – both for recreational and professional athletes. User safety has been increased, waiting times have been reduced and the overall quality of ski infrastructure has been raised.
The reconstruction stimulated the growth of tourist traffic and contributed to the extension of the winter season, which is directly reflected in the local economy through a higher number of overnight stays and higher consumption in catering and support activities. In addition, the project has strengthened the position of Igman as an attractive and sustainable destination for winter tourism in the region.
