Energy Ring for a Sustainable Future: Krnovo and Brezna Substations
The construction of the "Krnovo" and "Brezna" substations, together with the associated 110 kV transmission lines that connect them, is one of the strategically most important energy infrastructure projects in Montenegro. This project enabled the formation of the so-called energy ring, which connects the Krnovo, Brezna and Kličevo substations, which ensured greater stability and resilience of the country's power system.
Company XEnergy d.o.o., as a reliable engineering partner, was responsible for the complete construction of substations and transmission lines. This infrastructural undertaking is not only a technical success, but also a key factor for the development of the Krnovo Wind Farm – the first large wind energy facility in Montenegro.
Wind farm Krnovo
The Krnovo wind farm was built in accordance with the highest social and environmental standards, making Montenegro one of the countries that are seriously investing in the energy transition to renewable energy sources. This park produces clean electricity from wind, without CO₂ emissions and harmful gases, contributing to the fight against climate change.
The produced energy is transmitted through the "Krnovo" and "Brezna" substations to the wider power grid, enabling its efficient distribution to consumers and connecting with regional markets.
With the construction of the "Krnovo" and "Brezna" substations, and their connection into a functional ring with the "Kličevo" substation, XEnergy It lays the foundations for a stable, modern and sustainable power system. This project not only strengthens the infrastructure, but also clearly confirms Montenegro's commitment to a future based on renewable sources and smart investments.
