Electricity modernization of Lustica with the support of KfW Bank

Within the framework of bilateral cooperation between Germany and Montenegro, and with the financial support of the KfW Development Bank, the implementation of one of the most important energy infrastructure projects on the Montenegrin coast is currently underway. The project is focused on the energy empowerment of the Lustica area – a region that is experiencing accelerated tourism, housing and investment development.

This complex initiative includes the construction of a new 110/35kV Radovići substation and the reconstruction of the existing Tivat substation, as well as the laying of a double underground cable line about 11.5 km long, which connects the new substation with the existing Budva Tivat transmission line. In addition, it is planned to build a new 110 kV transmission line Lastva-Kotor (section Lastva-Trojica) in the length of 10 km, and the reconstruction of the transmission line Lastva Gorovići-Tivat in the length of 12 km.

The works are carried out on a turnkey basis, including all construction, design and installation phases. In addition to technical sophistication, the project carries great development potential because it provides a stable supply of electricity for new residential, tourist and commercial facilities that are springing up in the Lustica area.

The special importance of this project is also reflected in the improvement of energy efficiency and reliability of the network, with the possibility of easier integration of future sources from renewable energy sources, which makes the project activity fit into the broader framework of the green transition and sustainable development of the region.
