The Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) has been successfully conducted for four prefabricated container-type substations that will be installed within the energy complex of the solar power plant "Kapino Polje", whose investor is the Electric Power Industry of Montenegro (EPCG).
The meeting was conducted in the presence of a representative of the company XEnergy, conducted at the CHINT Power Systems factory in Huainan, China, Anhui Province, one of the leading production sites within CHINT Group, a global manufacturer of energy equipment.
The substations have a capacity of 7 MVA, voltage ratio of 10/0.8 kV, and will be the first units of this type installed in Montenegro. The substations will serve as the main node between the solar panels and the power grid, raising the voltage from 0.8 kV to 10 kV and ensuring a stable and safe power supply.
The Kapino Polje solar power plant is being implemented in four phases (L1, L2, B1 and B2), and the latest published technical data show that the Kapino Polje B1 power plant will have an installed capacity of 11.43 MWp and an expected annual production of close to 15.8 GWh, which is enough to supply thousands of households.
Prefabricated substations play an important role in the operation of solar power plants, as they ensure that the voltage is raised from the output level from the solar inverters to the level required to connect to the power grid. In addition, the substations enable the protection, monitoring and quality control of the supplied energy, thus ensuring stable and safe operation of the system as a whole.
