Podgorica In 2020, the company received a unique and sustainable facility – the UN Eco House, the United Nations headquarters in Montenegro, which represents a combination of modern design, functionality and environmental responsibility. The project is the result of cooperation between the Government of Montenegro, the UN system and renowned European architects: Danijel Fügenschuh and the architectural office King Shaw from Great Britain.
The building is designed and built according to high standards of energy efficiency and sustainability, using modern materials and technologies that enable significant energy savings, reduction of CO₂ emissions and maximum use of natural lighting.
In this case, the company Xenergy d.o.o., member XE Group, was in charge of the execution of construction works, including construction, insulation, finishing works and adaptation of the premises in accordance with the specifics of international standards.
The construction was financed by the Government of Montenegro, while the Public Works Administration coordinated all phases of implementation. The UN Eco Building is an example of good practice in the field of public construction and sustainable development, and at the same time a symbol of partnership between national institutions and international organizations.
Today, the facility serves as a joint headquarters for several UN agencies, providing a functional, safe and environmentally friendly workspace, which also symbolizes Montenegro's commitment to the Global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
